The Taiwan Physical Therapy Association (TPTA) focused their activities on the theme for World PT Day 2023, arthritis. The association invited physical therapists and PT students in Taiwan to participate in this significant event of the year. Through true stories and videos, people got to know how lives can be affected by arthritis and how physical therapists can help.
Physical therapists were also invited to share true clinical stories of individuals with arthritis and how physical therapists worked with clients to improve their quality of life. Videos were posted and shared on social media, including Facebook and YouTube, to promote public awareness of arthritis and how physical therapists can help.
For students, a video creativity competition was held. Students used creative ideas to make videos about what physical therapy is, including scope of service, workplace, physical therapy assessments and treatments, and common myths about physical therapy. All submitted videos were posted and shared on social media, including Facebook and YouTube, to increase people’s understanding of the physical therapy profession. Awards were given to the top four videos with the largest number of likes.
