World Physiotherapy und das International Network of Physiotherapy Regulatory Authorities (INPTRA) haben sich auf ein Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) geeinigt, um ihre Partnerschaft durch die Zusammenarbeit bei Projekten zum gegenseitigen Nutzen zu stärken.
Das MoU erweitert das von den beiden Organisationen im Jahr 2017 unterzeichnete MoU, um Informationen in halbjährlichen Treffen auszutauschen und Bemühungen bei Aktivitäten von beiderseitigem Interesse zu koordinieren.
In der Absichtserklärung erkennt INPTRA World Physiotherapy als einzige internationale Stimme an, die die globale Physiotherapie-Gemeinschaft vertritt, und World Physiotherapy erkennt INPTRA als führende internationale Autorität für Exzellenz in der Physiotherapie-Regulierung an, die eine sichere und kompetente Praxis gewährleistet.
Emma Stokes, Präsidentin von World Physiotherapy, sagte: „Die Absichtserklärung mit INPTRA ist angesichts der Veränderungen, die in der Praxis und Ausbildung von Physiotherapeuten und im gesamten Gesundheitswesen stattfinden, heute wichtiger denn je. Dadurch können wir auf unseren Kooperationsbemühungen und Vorteilen aufbauen, beispielsweise auf dem Whitepaper zur digitalen Praxis in der Physiotherapie und dem aktuellen Informationspapier zur Regulierung im Kontext der Einstiegsausbildung und den Auswirkungen von COVID-19.“
William Hatherill, INPTRA board chair, said: “As the global health community confronts COVID-19, the MoU with World Physiotherapy highlights the partnership needed to address current and future challenges and opportunities. The extension of the MoU helps formalize the commitment to partner on matters of joint interest that will lead toward ensuring safe and competent practice.” The partnership between these two established organisations recognises that the:
- evolution of physiotherapy is dependent on having appropriate levels of professional regulation
- advancement of the physiotherapy profession should always be balanced against protection of the public
- greater understanding of best practice regulation will support the development of the physiotherapy profession internationally
- physiotherapy profession works in a globalised world and facilitating greater workforce mobility is a key to delivering better health outcomes.
