World Physiotherapy’s continuing professional development (CPD) recognition services aim to enhance the quality of CPD for physiotherapists around the world by offering a quality assurance process for providers from countries/territories where national CPD recognition systems do not exist or for CPD providers seeking international recognition.
The services are guided by World Physiotherapy’s Physiotherapist education framework. They underscore the importance of lifelong learning for physiotherapists to maintain their competence to practice and improve patient outcomes. Our CPD recognition services help ensure that:
physiotherapists maintain competence
CPD providers deliver high-quality learning
patients benefit from safe, effective care.
World Physiotherapy offers two complementary services to assure and recognise the quality of CPD:
CPD event recognition for individual courses or learning activities
CPD provider recognition for organisations delivering CPD
Both services are based on World Physiotherapy quality requirements and a peer review process, helping ensure CPD is relevant, evidence-based, and supports safe and effective physiotherapy practice.
Which service is right for you?
- CPD event recognition: recognise a single CPD event: for organisations offering specific courses, workshops, or webinars with fewer than 100 contact hours. Download our CPD event recognition applicant guidelines for further information.
- CPD provider recognition: Recognise your organisation as a CPD provider: For organisations that regularly design and deliver multiple CPD programmes and offer more than 100 contact hours of CPD. Download our CPD provider recognition applicant guidelines for further information.
