Bangladesh: World PT Day 2020

World PT Day 2020 was celebrated in Bangladesh under the leadership of the Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association (BPA). There were a series of online events and publications in leading electronic and printed media. BPA published an e-poster and a printed poster regarding physiotherapists' role in post-COVID rehabilitation (http://www.bpa-bd.org/word_physiotherapy_day_2020.pdf).

In collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy of the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) BPA published a special circular where Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh H. E. Sheikh Hasina, MP, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Minister of Social Welfare, Dr. Valerie A. BPA telecasted several programmes live on national television where lawmakers, professionals, and general people quoted the contribution of physiotherapy in Bangladesh:

BPA also arranged a special discussion of “Bongobondhu’s Bangladesh and Physiotherapy Profession” where Honorable Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament Advocate Fazle Rabbi Mia, MP, State Minister of Social Welfare, State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief, President of Bangladesh Medical Association, Lawmakers and politicians urged the government to promote physiotherapy and post them in all stages of healthcare services.
