The Academic Center of the Undergraduate Program in Physiotherapy (Instagram – @ca_fagc) and the Interdisciplinary Residency Program in Elderly Health of the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro, in the state of Minas Gerais, organized a major event in the city.
In the morning, the residents organized a special moment with the “Longevity Group.” This group was created in 2018 and offers supervised physical exercise and health education for older adults free of charge. This special moment brought together more than 50 older adults, as well as family members and health professionals. Everyone took part in physical activities accompanied by music, prayers, and social interaction. In the afternoon, lectures were held online. Participants joined from different states of Brazil as well as from Mozambique, highlighting the international character of the celebration. The invited speakers addressed the themes “Frailty in older adults: assessment and management in
physiotherapy” and “Healthy aging and fall prevention.”
Aiming to broaden the reach of the discussions, the recording of the event was made available to the Institute of Health Sciences in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, so that students and staff could access the content, along with others who were interested but unable to participate live.
