Colombia: World PT Day 2020

World PT Day 2020 was celebrated in Colombia with a variety of activities. The union organisations held a virtual conference focussing on the importance of physiotherapy in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic where a tribute was paid to the Colombian physiotherapists who are in the frontline of care. Physiotherapists were also encouraged to do different activities to mark the day.
 
At the Clínica San José de Cúcuta S.A., a health institution located in the northeast of Colombia, a group of 27 physiotherapists marked World PT Day on 8 September by joining the campaign led by World Physiotherapy on #PPE4PT. The campaign aimed to obtain the political commitment and support, social acceptance of the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for physiotherapists. On this day, they highlighted the importance of PPE use by wearing a head cover, carrying out their work with the users of their institution, including those who were facing and recovering from the COVID-19.
