Grenada: World PT Day 2025

In conjunction with the Ministry of Health, Grenada proudly marked its first-ever participation in World Physiotherapy Day on 8 September 2025, joining the global community under the theme “Healthy Aging.” This historic event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physiotherapy in promoting mobility, independence, and quality of life for older adults.

Pre-event activities

  • Media Outreach: Members of the physiotherapy community conducted interviews on local news outlets and Christian radio stations, sharing key messages about the benefits of physiotherapy for maintaining health and function with age.
  • Elderly Home Visits: Teams visited local elderly care homes, providing education on safe mobility, fall prevention, and gentle exercise routines tailored for older adults.

World PT Day Activities (8 September 2025)

On World Physiotherapy Day, physiotherapists took to the streets of St. George’s to engage directly with the public. Activities included:

  • Community Education Booths: Distributing educational materials and answering questions about aging well through movement and injury prevention.
  • Exercise Demonstrations: Showcasing simple, accessible exercises to improve balance, strength, and flexibility.
  • Public Engagement: Encouraging community members to participate in live demonstrations and discussions about healthy aging.
