Erbil Technical Health and Medical College

On 8 September 2024, the Physiotherapy Department of Erbil Technical Health and Medical College at Erbil Polytechnic University celebrated World PT Day with a series of events and activities designed to highlight the importance of physiotherapy, create awareness, and offer opportunities for its students. This celebration not only marked a global day of recognition for physiotherapists, but also provided a platform for collaboration between the department, physiotherapy professionals, and local healthcare companies.

  • Main event - festival and networking opportunities: to celebrate this important day, we organized a **festival** at our college campus, where we invited leading physiotherapy centres, rehabilitation clinics, and companies specialising in physiotherapy equipment and services. The main objective of this festival was to facilitate networking and create job opportunities for our graduating students by bringing them face-to-face with industry professionals. These interactions allowed students to learn about the latest advancements in physiotherapy technologies, employment opportunities, and industry expectations. The companies and centres were provided with booths to showcase their products and services, while students had the opportunity to interact, ask questions, and establish potential professional connections. This event provided a valuable bridge between academia and the healthcare industry, helping our graduates secure promising career paths in the field of physiotherapy.
  • Brochure distribution and awareness campaign: raised awareness about the benefits and applications of physiotherapy. The physiotherapy department prepared information brochures, which were distributed across various university offices. These brochures outlined the role of physiotherapy in health and wellness, emphasising its importance in treating musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain management, and rehabilitation post-injury or surgery. The goal of this campaign was to educate university staff and students about the value of physiotherapy in improving quality of life, and to encourage them to seek physiotherapy services when needed. By distributing these materials, we aimed to increase recognition and appreciation for the profession within our university community.
