World Physical Therapy Day 2018 was celebrated in the capital city of Nairobi from 10am.
Members of the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists converged at the Ministry of Health headquarters at 9am on the 8th of September 2018 for a walk. It was graced by the Africa Region of WCPT Chair, Jonathan Quartey, as well as Joyce Mothabeng and members from Uganda, Tanzania, Benin and Burundi who had previously attended WCPT-A East Africa Scientific Conference. The walk was flagged off by the Country Director of Medical Services, Dr Jackson Kioko. For the day members wore polo T-Shirts with the message “WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY”. A band also played to alert members of the public and bring additional attention to the walk.
The route followed two kilometres through the major streets of the capital and back to the Ministry of Health.
