The Foundation University Islamabad, Pakistan celebrated World PT Day 2025 on 8 September under the theme of "Healthy Ageing".
The day featured a series of impactful activities, including: Expert Lecture Session which highlighted core principles of healthy ageing, maintaining mobility and independence through regular physical activity and preventing and managing balance-related issues with appropriate gait training; Awareness Walk led by campus director, Dean, HODs and faculty from Foundation University College of Physical Therapy & Fauji Foundation Hospital along with the enthusiastic house officers attended the event; Campus Director’s Address comprised of a motivational call for young physical therapists to serve as torchbearers of Healthy Ageing by educating communities, advocating for age-friendly policies, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and enabling older adults to thrive.
Moreover, Free Fall Risk Screening Camp was organized in the Multidisciplinary Lab, offering objective balance and fall risk assessments for older adults, followed by tailored exercise prescriptions, aerobic and strengthening programs, balance drills, functional training protocols, and home modification advice.
The ceremony concluded with the Cake-Cutting Ceremony for honouring the profession’s role in promoting health across the lifespan.

In his congratulatory remarks, Prof. Amer Aziz commended the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and the leadership of Prof. Hafiz Asim for its dynamic contributions. He proudly highlighted that physiotherapy at GTTH is among the leading departments in the country, particularly as the hospital has digitalized clinical practice and
training through a clinically oriented AHP Digital Portal, revolutionizing both patient care and professional education.

- Research Poster Presentations – Physical Therapy House Officers showcased their research letters categorized into three key areas: Significance, Challenges in Pakistan, and Call to Action. Their innovative and evidence-based work was evaluated by esteemed professors serving as panelists, who deeply appreciated the academic quality and relevance.
- Cake-Cutting Ceremony – Marking the unity and collective spirit of the healthcare team.
- Prize Distribution – Recognition of excellence through awards for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best research poster presentations.
- Shield Distribution – Honouring senior physical therapists for their dedication in organizing and leading the event successfully.
