Hospital Distrital da Figueira da Foz
The physiotherapists group at the Hospital Distrital da Figueira da Foz, EPE. celebrated the World Physical Therapy Day 2018, and once again offered activities to the community. This year, with the theme was Mental Health, several entities of the city were invited to collaborate with their contribution in a dynamic morning of activities that took place in the Municipal’s city garden.
The “Physiotherapy Garden“ was the name chosen for the event that included Pilates, stretching, postpartum and labour gymnastics classes, along with workshops, screenings, and clarification sessions that took place throughout the morning culminating in a pleasant lunch. The purpose of all activities was to bring to public knowledge of the different areas of physiotheraphy intervention emphasising not only the most evident benefits at the physical level, but also the benefits regarding mental health and wellbeing.
ESTeSC Coimbra Health School
To celebrate World Physical Therapy Day 2018, in Coimbra, Portugal, ESTeSC Coimbra Health School invited all Coimbra citizens to meet in the Green Park, in Coimbra.
Promoting this year’s "Physical therapy and mental health" campaign message, a group of physical therapists (PT) and PT students invited persons with disability, families and general population to participate in a group exercise session promoted by the FallSensing team and to talk to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing physical activity to promote health and to prevent many chronic conditions and falls.
