The purpose of developing a structured method, that included creation of a curriculum matrix to map courses to the 2021 WPT Educational Framework with French and English translations, was to efficiently and effectively facilitate the completion of WPT Program Documentation and Self-evaluation report.
An international team of Haitian Creole, French and English-speaking physiotherapists and ergotherapists collaborated and reported at monthly meetings. A distribution of effort was made for each of the six requirements of WPT for Programme Accreditation: 1. The Educational Institution; 2. Academics; 3. Resources; 4. Academic Programme; 5. Clinical Education Program; and 6. Outcomes. Focus on Academic Programme required a much more extensive process. Steps included review of objectives, content, and assessments for each individual course, followed by an additional review of alignment of course objectives with 2021 WPT Educational Framework.
The first result was the development of a structured process that the core group of international volunteer faculty used over a period of 2 years in preparing the application to WPT Accreditation. The second result was the creation of a curriculum matrix to map course objectives, content, and assessments for each individual courses and a separate matrix for review alignment of course objectives with the 2021 WPT Educational Framework with French and English translations that will be offered as open access resources to facilitate other existing or developing programs with their organization in preparation for program review.

Open access to curriculum matrix documents and to the steps in a formal process for program review could help reduce the burden of preparing for accreditation for existing and developing programs. The process and documents created could serve as a model for any program seeking WPT accreditation, but especially those in countries with limited resources and international volunteer faculty.
