Four phases will be conducted; 1) evidence review, consisting of a scoping review, and focus groups of professionals, PREP staff, and survivors and carers, 2) co-production, building on stage one data; consisting of online workshops, 3) prototyping, consisting of development of the intervention, and 4) feasibility study, based on the final data of the other three phases to inform the final design of the intervention.
Once designed we aim to recruit 60 participants (n=30 intervention, n=30 control) into a feasibility randomised controlled trial to assess the feasibility and acceptability of delivering the intervention. A range of qualitative and quantitative measures will assess the demand, acceptability of the intervention and its potential impact on PA levels.
The results of phases one and two will be ready to present by the conference date.
This will be determined and presented based on results gained by the conference date
This study has the potential to identify a feasible and acceptable method to support people with stroke living in the community to engage in long term physical activity. This has the potential to reduce risk of secondary stroke and development of co-morbidities.
