Background: Low back pain is an important health issue in the workplace. Its importance not only affects personal life but also affects the welfare of the whole society. Other literatures discussed the field of low back pain exercise mostly in the way of home exercise, and the research on exercise intervention in the workplace was quite limited. However, working time accounts for a large proportion of people's day, which not only has a profound impact on an individual's physical state, but also has a profound impact on its psychological and social aspects. Therefore, the workplace is a very important field that needs to be explored.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of workplace exercise intervention combined with physical therapist consultation, health education or supervision on the pain of employees with work-related low back pain and the efficacy of functional status.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Sciences andAiriti Library databases for journal articles in English from 2002 until 2022. Original clinical trials which met the following criteria were included:
(1) Participants' age was between 20 to 65 years, and both males and females were include;
(2) The period searched was from 2002 to the present, focused all employees;
(3) Subjects received any interventions included workplace-based exercise combine one of counseling, education, advise and supervision to manage work-related LBP;
(4) Full length articles published in English / Chinese.

Results: Ultimately, we found 479 articles and there were 5 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed.The intervention of exercise interventions under therapist education, consultation, supervision could help improve low back pain significantly (p<0.001). The interventions also help improve work ability and functional performance of workplace employees.Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) (p= 0.013)Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ) (p= 0.001) significantly improved.
Conclusions: Our result showed that the intervention of exercise interventions under therapist education, consultation, supervision could help improve low back pain and improve work ability and functional performance of workplace employees. Finally, we suggest that future research can consider the relationship between changes in compliance and workplace intervention effectiveness, and provide a practical basis for economic benefits.
Implications: The physical therapist can help on the issue of occupation/workplace fields. The result showed that PT intervention of workplace exercise and counseling can effectively reduce low back pain and significantly help improving work status and functional performance.
