Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a set of developmental alterations, classified according to motor alterations, which generates impact on the physical condition for health, according to the location, distribution and severity of the lesion. In Colombia, specific studies are not yet available, mainly due to the absence of population characterization.

Purpose: To determine the factors that influence the performance of physical activity (PA) by the population with CP between the ages of 10 and 17 years in the Bogotá city from a multilevel approach.

Methods: Mixed research study based on the social determinants of health, with transversal and narrative methodology for the identification of factors within the reading of needs. The study involved 22 subjects between the ages of 10 and 17 who were characterized socio-demographically and whose physical condition for health were assessed using the Brockport Physical Fitness Manual Test (BPFT), and analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) tool. From the qualitative point of view, semi-structured interviews related to PA and PC were developed with parents, teachers and public entities, which was analyzed with the Atlas.Ti program 8 for the categorical crossing of information.

Results: Barriers to participation were identified, such as personal, social and context factors, ignorance of the concepts of CP, participation, AF, untrained professionals, gaps in support networks, poor communication with district entities, poorly accessible and adapted environments and poor access to health services. Thanks to the categorical crossing of information it was found that the periodic participation in recreational-sports activities minimum 3 times a week allows the improvement in health, which is reflected in its location in "Adapted Healthy Zones" of the BPFT. Finally, the PA is directly related to the processes of participation and independence.

Conclusion(s): It is necessary to include disability-related topics in university training programmers. Access to support networks such as "Family - School" ensures better participation in PA and thus a better physical condition for the health of the population with CP. Greater community involvement is required for the restructuring, implementation and monitoring of public policies, as well as recognition of plans and strategies offered by district entities.

Implications: This work allows establishing functional articulations such as support networks for the articulation of public policies, It also opens the door to new research such as participation in PA in people with PCs and their relationships with physical condition for health, effective participation of the population and compliance with public policies.
