Description
The COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on the profession took us all by surprise. World Physiotherapy member organisations developed resources for physiotherapists in their jurisdiction at a speed never seen before. This session will look at examples of national responses and how associations provided leadership in developing the necessary guidance and resources. Whilst organisations are operating in different geographical, cultural and health policy settings this session will analyse lessons learnt and how these can influence the development of national resources in the future.
Objectives
- Explore initiatives led by World Physiotherapy member organisations in supporting physiotherapists working with COVID-19 patients
- Draw out global differences in responses influenced by a multitude of factors
- Lessons learnt from rapid development of resources and insights gained for future World Physiotherapy projects
