REHABILITATION IN CONFLICT: WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY IN EXTREME SETTINGS?

Outline:

Contexts affected by conflict are characterised by great diversity, complexity, volatility and fragility. The prerequisites and conditions for the provision of rehabilitation services are constantly compromised and challenged.

This seminar will explore the characteristics, barriers and facilitators to the provision and development of rehabilitation in conflict and how the global physiotherapy community can contribute.
Objectives:
  1. understand the characteristics of conflict-affected contexts and the implications for rehabilitation.
  2. discuss the barriers and facilitators to the provision of rehabilitation in specific conflict-affected contexts.
  3. as a global physiotherapy community, develop ways to support and advance rehabilitation in conflict-affected contexts.
