WOMEN'S HEALTH WITH CANCER: PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELL-BEING
Outline:
From diagnosis to complete rehabilitation, women diagnosed with female cancer (breast cancer and urogynecological cancer) must face different treatment sequelae and comorbidities, which have a significant impact on their psychological and physical well-being.
Offering a comprehensive approach, evidence-based therapeutic strategies and techniques for both mental and physical health is key in treating these patients. In addition to accompanying the patient in modifying their lifestyle with the aim to reducing the risk of cancer recurrence, minimizing the side effects of treatments, another goal is to control comorbidities and reducing stress.
Objectives:
- Providing evidence for a comprehensive approach including the importance of the patient-therapist relationship.
- To gain a better understanding of the process experienced by women with female cancer for appropriate clinical decision-making in the application of evidence-based physiotherapy treatment techniques for mental health and physical health.
