Member organisations of World PhysiotherapySee Physical therapy may:
- participate in the activities of the World PhysiotherapySee Physical therapy in accordance with the constitutionConstitution: Sets out the rules that govern the confederation including its membership organisational structure, and operating procedures. This includes the duties and responsibilities of the Executive Board, member organisations, regions, subgroups as well as the organisation of the General Meeting held every four years. This Constitution may only be amended or repealed by a resolution passed by at least 75% of all votes cast at a General Meeting. View full list of glossary terms

- participate in policy development by making suggestions at General Meetings and to the Board and Chief Executive Officer at any time
- attend, present proposals, speak, and vote at General Meetings in accordance with the constitutionConstitution: Sets out the rules that govern the confederation including its membership organisational structure, and operating procedures. This includes the duties and responsibilities of the Executive Board, member organisations, regions, subgroups as well as the organisation of the General Meeting held every four years. - request advocacy and other practical support from the World PhysiotherapySee Physical therapy to assist efforts to improve the situation of physiotherapists in its country

- apply for assistance from the World PhysiotherapySee Physical therapy's funds in accordance with the Regulations
Duties
To be and remain in good standing, member organisations must:
- comply with and observe the constitutionConstitution: Sets out the rules that govern the confederation including its membership organisational structure, and operating procedures. - send to the Chief Executive Officer a copy of all amendments to its governing documents and codes of ethicsSee Professional ethics See Research ethics when requested and within 180 calendar days beginning with the date any such amendments are decided
- send to the Chief Executive Officer, when requested and within 30 calendar days of any change, the name and contact details of the head of the governing body
- inform the Chief Executive Officer about national events and developments relevant to physical therapyPhysical therapy —services for individuals and populations to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. The professional title and term used to describe the profession's practice varies and depends largely on the historical roots of the profession in each country. The most generally used titles and terms are 'physical therapy’, ‘physiotherapy' and ‘physical therapist’, ‘physiotherapist’. - provide any reports and information requested by the Chief Executive Officer or Board
- exerciseExercise: A subcategory of physical activity that is planned, structured, repetitive, and purposeful in the sense that the improvement or maintenance of one or more components of physical fitness is the objective. Physical activity includes exercise as well as other activities which involve bodily movement and are done as part of playing, working, active transportation, house chores and recreational activities.
