World Physiotherapy board meets in-person for first time in more than two years

The World Physiotherapy board recently met in-person for the first time in more than two years.

Emma Stokes, World Physiotherapy president, said: “We last met face to face in November 2019 and it was great to be in a room together again.”

The board usually holds two or three in-person and six online meetings every year but the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that all meetings have taken place online for the past two years.

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Japan, Yasushi Uchiyama was unable to join the meeting in Dubai but he was able to take part online.

The board welcomed Karim Martina Alvis Gómez to her first in-person meeting since being elected in June 2021 and Alia Alghwiri to her first board meeting since being elected as a general executive board member in December 2021.
