World Physiotherapy staff recently made a site visit to Tokyo, Japan, as part of the preparations for our congress in 2025 in the city.
The World Physiotherapy team comprised Jonathon Kruger, chief executive officer, Allegra Roccato, head of events, and Birgit Mueller-Winkler, policy manager. During the site visit, 25-28 September 2023, the team held meetings with representatives of Japan Physical Therapy Association (JPTA), local suppliers, hotels, and potential clinical visit providers.
Initial discussions were held with JPTA president Hideyuki Saito on potential legacy activities for World Physiotherapy Congress 2025, 29-31 May 2025, at Tokyo International Forum. Discussions also took place around roles and responsibilities to help clarify working relationships between the World Physiotherapy congress team and JPTA.
The congress programme committee (CPC) is due to hold its first face to face meeting in early December 2023 to start developing a programme, across all fields and career stages, that will appeal to local and international physiotherapists attending World Physiotherapy Congress 2025.
