It focuses on promoting rehabilitation as an essential health service that is integral to Universal Health Coverage and to the realisation of Sustainable Development Goal 3 Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
World Physiotherapy will be involved in the following WRA workstreams:

  • workforce
  • primary care

Jonathon Kruger, World Physiotherapy chief executive officer, said: “World Physiotherapy is proud to be a founding member of the World Rehabilitation Alliance. We believe that this organisation will be a powerful catalyst for the change required to create a world in which everyone who needs rehabilitation is able to access those services.”

WRA provides an opportunity for its members to network and share knowledge with other stakeholders in the rehabilitation sector. WRA members contribute to raising the profile of rehabilitation at global, regional, national, and local levels, and support WHO in its efforts to strengthen rehabilitation through advocacy.
