The Kuwait Physical Therapy Association (KPTA) celebrated World PT Day on 13th September 2019 in one of the biggest shopping malls in Kuwait (AL-Hamra Tower) that lasted 6 hours. The aim was to orientate the general public about the role of physical therapy in "CHRONIC PAIN". The activities during the day included:
- Completing a registration form containing basic information about pain history, nature, level and location;
- Locating the exact painful area on a body diagram (front/back) - as it can provide a rough statistics of frequent pain areas;
- Hosting guests - throughout the celebration period - with clinical degrees to assist KPTA members in responding to people's questions and providing proper advice and suggestions (Guests of honour were: Dr. Noor Abdal -PhD in Chronic Pain- , Mrs. Soha Bo-Yabes - Msc. in Woman's Health-, Dr. Jawad Abo-alhasan - PhD in Ortho/Knee-, Mr. Ali Al-Attar - Msc. in Ortho/spine/pain - & Mr. Mohammad Al-Farhan - PT Bsc. in Ortho/sports injuries).
The day was full of energy and interaction between KPTA members and the mall's visitors. An average of 360 visitors visited the KPTA booth. There was local media coverage on TV, Radio & Newspapers for the event.
