Pakistan: World PT Day 2019

On 15th September World Physical Therapy Day was celebrated at the Karachi School Of Business and Leadership (Auditorium),  by organising a first of its kind workshop in this year theme of "Chronic Pain". It was organised by Dr. Ambreen Shahzad (PT) working as a Lecturer in Bahria Medical University and Dental College and her team. The workshop started at 9:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm with delicious hi-tea and lunch.The objective of this workshop was to give the latest evidence and updates in the field of physiotherapy for managing chronic pain to the target audience. The organisers collaborated with six wonderful speakers from selected universities of Karachi to speak about various trends and share their knowledge. It was first of its kind workshop to be held in Karachi as different keynote speakers were slected from reputed teaching hospital universities on one platform. An audience of approximately 250 participated in this workshop, it was very successful and beneficial to all participants.

Dr. Humayun Azeem (Asistant Profesor, Karachi University), Dr. Basit Ansari (Associate Professor, Karachi University), Dr. Khalid Aziz (Vice Principal, Bahria University College of Physical Therapy) and Dr. Christina Angela (Acting Principal , Deewan University) were present at the workshop as guests.

Hyderabad Institute of Medical and Allied Sciences (HIMAS)

On 27th september, 2019, management of HIMAS, along with physical therapy students, celebrated World Physical Therapy Day. The main motive of the celebration was to bring awareness about this noble health care profession with our students and guests. The activities were held under this year's chronic pain theme with presentations and speeches held to mark the day.
