To mark World Physical Therapy Day 2025, the Korean Physical Therapists Association (KPTA) – Busan successfully executed a range of commemorative events and active promotional campaigns aimed at expanding the value and social role of physical therapy.
1. Volunteer and educational activities for community health promotion
As part of its commitment to community service, the Busan visited local Shared Housing facilities and Senior Centres to implement a comprehensive Health Promotion Program. Expert education was provided on 'Aging and Falls Prevention,' a critical topic in an aging society. Furthermore, individually tailored exercise programs were conducted for participants, contributing to the improved quality of life and safety of local residents.
2. Commemoration of World PT Day for physical therapy professionals
To strengthen the sense of belonging and professional ethics among practitioners, a special session commemorating World PT Day was integrated into the regular Continuing Education Program hosted by the Busan. This time was used to share the mission of physical therapists and global trends, reaffirming the commitment to professional development.
3. Education and promotion for future physical therapy professionals
Prospective physical therapists who will lead the future of the profession were actively educated and informed about the significance and value of World PT Day. This provided a crucial opportunity to present the global vision of physical therapy and instil professional pride in future practitioners.
Conclusion: KPTA-Busan focused on serving the community and enhancing the capabilities of both physical therapy professionals and the next generation during its World PT Day 2025 activities.
