For World PT Day 2025, the Surinaamse Vereniging voor Fysiotherapie (SVF)/Surinamese Association for Physiotherapy undertook the following initiatives:
- Produced a short film in which physiotherapists elaborated on their contribution to healthy ageing and fall prevention, with attention to both group therapy for the elderly and individualized care. It included reflections from physiotherapists on their own approaches to healthy ageing. The film was disseminated on the SVF official Facebook page, where it achieved a wide reach and engagement, amplified by numerous reshares. ((20+) Video | Facebook)

- The physical therapy program of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname also organized an information event in a nursing home to provide information about healthy ageing.
Through these initiatives, the SVF and the physical therapists in Suriname aspire to have contributed positively to raising awareness of physical therapy and underscoring its significance in the context of this year’s theme.
