The Vietnam Physical Therapy Association organised various activities for World PT Day, intended to promote and enhance the role of physiotherapy. Universities and hospitals across Vietnam organised diverse activities to promote physiotherapy’s role in healthy ageing, fall prevention, and community health.
- Vietnamese Society of Student and Early Career Physiotherapists (VSSECP): Participated in the scientific conference at UMP to introduce the association to students, and launched the “Physiotherapy Innovation Ideas Contest 2025” with three rounds (idea initiation, development, and final presentation). The competition provided a platform for young physiotherapists to showcase creativity, propose practical solutions, and empower older adults in self-care for healthier, happier living.
- University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP): Held a scientific conference “Healthy Aging: Fall Prevention and Functional Decline”, gathering lecturers, researchers, health professionals, and students from various disciplines to share knowledge and highlight interprofessional collaboration in patient-centred care.
- Hai Duong University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy: Hosted a seminar on physiotherapy in geriatric care, with simulation-based assessment of older adults and interactive balance-improving activities.
- Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy – Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences: Organised a seminar on Healthy Aging and the student competition “Golden Bell Challenge – Physiotherapy 2025.”
- Ha Tinh Rehabilitation Hospital: Held the “Excellent Physiotherapist Competition 2025” to evaluate knowledge and skills, fostering professional excellence.
- Da Nang Rehabilitation Hospital: Conducted a seminar on Exercise Therapy and Hydrotherapy, emphasising their benefits in recovery, mobility, and mental well-being.
- 199 Hospital (Da Nang): Organised the “Fall Prevention Day – Step Steady, Live Happy” with knowledge sharing, balance training, interactive games, a “challenge path,” and a “Messages of Love” activity.
- Le Van Thinh Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City): Carried out group exercise sessions for older adults, focusing on preventing common non-communicable diseases and promoting healthy lifestyles.
- Hong Bang International University – Student Activities: Celebrated with cultural performances, the White Coat Ceremony, and student competitions (Quizizz, Golden Bell Challenge), strengthening motivation and professional pride among future physiotherapists.
Across universities and hospitals, these activities raised awareness, promoted healthy ageing, and inspired the next generation of physiotherapists while strengthening the role of physiotherapy in Vietnam’s health system.
