Yollande Djivoh Sonounameto, member of Association Béninoise des Kinésithérapeutes - Reeducateurs/Beninoise Association of Physiotherapists – Reeducators, trained at the Ecole supérieure de physiotherapy de Cotonou in Benin, then at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium where she obtained a university certificate in perineology in 2010, a master's, and a PhD in motor sciences in 2022.

She has developed proven expertise for around 20 years in the care of patients in abdomino-pelvi-perineology, participates in the training of physiotherapy students in various countries/territories, particularly in Benin, and plays a leading role in the continuing training of African physiotherapists through multiple webinars and practical training in its specialty.

Corlia Brandt, member of South African Society of Physiotherapy, started working in private practice in 2000 before obtaining a master's and PhD at the University of the Free State, South Africa. Her main areas of interest are neuromusculoskeletal, sport, pelvic and women's health, and research.  

She holds a number of volunteer roles including, South African physiotherapy representative for the International Urogynaecology Association (IUGA), IUGA Africa advisory board, International Organization of Physiotherapists in Pelvic and Women's Health (IOPPWH) treasurer, South African Society of Physiotherapy national executive committee professional development portfolio chair, South African Sexual Health Association president, African Journal of Primary Health Care and Family Medicine editorial board, Southern African Sexual Health Association Congress 2024 scientific chair, South African Society of Physiotherapy – Africa region congress 2024 scientific committee.

Corlia has published several papers in international journals and has presented at international congresses – where her research has also been nominated for awards.

She has facilitated the establishment of pelvic floor units as a collaboration between academia, researchers and private practitioners. She is an associate professor at the University of the Witwatersrand, continuing her passion for integrating research, clinical practice, and teaching, and developing pelvic and women's health clinics suitable for a South African context and as part of the WiSH research group.
