Elections for the positions of president and vice president of World Physiotherapy for terms commencing 1 July 2027 will be held during the 21st General Meeting in Guadalajara, Mexico on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 May 2027.
Nominations are now open for those wishing to be considered for these important leadership positions.

Information for prospective candidates
Suitably experienced and qualified physiotherapists who are interested in standing for president or vice president of World Physiotherapy should read the candidate information pack.
Eligibility criteria
Prospective candidates must:
- be physiotherapists
- be a member of a World Physiotherapy member organisation that is entitled to nominate and vote
- have served for a period of at least two years on the governing body of a World Physiotherapy membership organisation
- have their nomination supported by at least two member organisations, one of which must be the nominee’s own member organisation
Required nomination documents
The following documents must be submitted by the nomination deadline, Thursday 12 November 2026, 23:59 UTC:
- a signed declaration form (download president declaration form, download vice president declaration form)
- a signed nomination form (download president nomination form, download vice president nomination form)
- candidate statement form (providing a statement of no more than 1,000 words)
- curriculum vitae (no more than two sides of A4)
- a recent head and shoulders photograph suitable for publication and distribution to World Physiotherapy member organisations (supplied in JPG format and 300 dpi minimum).
In accordance with World Physiotherapy’s constitution, nominations can only be accepted from member organisations that have paid their annual membership subscriptions.
