Africa region holds general meeting

The World Physiotherapy Africa region held a general meeting, 26 October 2022, in Cotonou, Benin.

Of 25 member organisations in the region, 13 were represented at the general meeting, which was attended by 40 people. Simultaneous interpretation in English and French was provided to enable people to participate effectively in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the regulatory need to have staggered terms to mitigate risk and ensure continuity on the Africa region executive committee. As a consequence, voting delegates from member organisations at the general meeting approved the extension of terms of office for two Africa region executive committee members.

Joseph Martial Capo-Chichi, member of Beninoise Association of Physiotherapists – Reeducators and chair of the Africa region, and Houda Lahlou, member of National Federation of Physiotherapists in Morocco and Africa region public relations officer, will serve as Africa region executive committee members until 2026.

After the Africa region general meeting, the region’s hybrid congress took place, 27-29 October 2022, in Cotonou, Benin.
