Members of the steering group will be expected to:
- provide expert opinion on the competency framework structure, language, scope and content to ensure that it achieves its intended aims
- help coordinate the dissemination of drafts for peer review by relevant organisations
- support the translation of feedback into concrete and meaningful recommendations.
Nominated members should be familiar with competency frameworks (or competency models/standards) and their applications and, ideally, have been engaged in competency-based approaches in a professional capacity.
WHO plans to limit the need for travel, and use online platforms (including email and Web-Ex) for communications and steering group business, and encourages nominations from people who are able to dedicate time to reviewing materials and participating in discussions. One face-to-face meeting will be held in Geneva, Switzerland mid-2019 in conjunction with the next Rehabilitation 2030 meeting.
Further details about the role and mandate of the WHO rehabilitation competency framework steering group can be found in the Terms of Reference.
