The World Physiotherapy Congress 2025 will be hosted by the Japanese Physical Therapy Association and take place in Tokyo, the World Physiotherapy board has announced.
The dates for the congress will be Thursday 29 May-Saturday 31 May 2025.
Tokyo had previously been announced as the location for the general meeting and congress in 2023. However, travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible to hold these activities in Japan in 2023.
The Japanese Physical Therapy Association (JPTA) has been a member of World Physiotherapy since 1970 and, with more than 107,000 members, is the largest of World Physiotherapy’s 127 member organisations.
Emma Stokes, World Physiotherapy president, said: “We are grateful it has been possible to reschedule the congress in Tokyo from 2023 so that we can be there in 2025. It will be wonderful to welcome congress participants from around the world to Tokyo. Holding our congress in Japan continues our commitment to reach and build physiotherapy communities across the world."
