World Physiotherapy president Michel Landry recently attended the Asociación Española de Fisioterapeutas/Spanish Association of Physiotherapists 17th national congress in Cáceres, Spain.
During his keynote address at the congress opening session, Mike recognised the engagement of Spanish physiotherapists who had contributed to World Physiotherapy’s activities, including those involved in developing the Guidance for developing a curriculum for physiotherapist entry level education programme, and those who are members of World Physiotherapy’s committees.
He also presented the World Physiotherapy International Service award for research to César Fernández de las Peñas. César had been unable to attend the World Physiotherapy general meeting in Dubai in June 2023 to receive the award in-person.
More than 700 people attended the congress, which took place 24-25 November 2023.
Mike also took part in a student panel, where he spoke about the role of new generations physiotherapists as the leaders of the future, and a podcast.
Pablo Davó Cabra, World Physiotherapy professional adviser, also attended the congress to make a presentation about the World Physiotherapy accreditation service.
