Nepal: World PT Day 2026

On the occasion of World PT Day 2026, the Nepal Physiotherapy Association (NEPTA) successfully organised a special awareness and educational programme based on this year’s theme of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

The programme brought together more than 150 physiotherapy students, practicing physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals. The awareness session featured valuable presentations and discussions by a multidisciplinary panel comprising a cardiologist, neurologist, neurophysiotherapist, and cardiopulmonary physiotherapist. The sessions focused on prevention, early recognition, rehabilitation, and the important role of physiotherapy in cardiovascular disease and stroke management.

In addition to the educational program, NEPTA also organised a blood donation campaign as part of our World PT Day activities. Nepal has recently experienced severe floods and other natural disasters, resulting in loss of lives, injuries, and significant humanitarian challenges. In response to this situation, we felt it was important for the physiotherapy community to contribute beyond our clinical roles and support those in need.

The blood donation campaign received an encouraging response, with physiotherapists, students, healthcare professionals, and members of the general public actively participating in the initiative.

We are proud that both initiatives were successfully conducted with strong participation and community engagement. These activities reflect NEPTA’s commitment to promoting health awareness, strengthening the role of physiotherapy in public health, and contributing to the wider community during times of need
