World Physiotherapy launches CPD event recognition service

Providers of continuing professional development (CPD) can now apply for recognition of their events by World Physiotherapy.

The CPD event recognition service will use a peer review process to ensure submitted events meet World Physiotherapy CPD quality requirements. Each event will be awarded World Physiotherapy continuing education units (CEUs), on the basis of one CEU for one hour of learning.

Heidi Kosakowski, World Physiotherapy head of policy and membership, said: “The CPD event recognition service will help advance the profession by offering CPD providers a mechanism for quality assurance. The service will increase access to quality CPD opportunities for physiotherapists and physiotherapist assistants throughout their careers.”

The CPD event recognition service is available to a number of CPD providers, including World Physiotherapy regional executive committees, specialty groups, and member organisations, as well as other qualified commercial and non-commercial entities. Events recognised under this service may be delivered nationally and/or internationally.

CPD providers must apply for recognition using CEU Locker. The review process will take 10 weeks to complete, and a tiered application fee structure is used.
