The Philippine Physical Therapy Association translated this year's World PT Day materials into Filipino. Following this, the following institutions in the Philippines conducted activities to mark the day.
Lung Center of the Philippines
The certified pulmonary rehabilitation specialists in the Lung Center of the Philippines celebrated World PT Day 2025. The hospital, known for its specialized care for pulmonary patients, also took part in promoting the value of physical activity for healthy aging. They conducted a lay forum designed especially for older adults and their families, highlighting the importance of continuing physical activity under the proper guidance of physical therapists. The session emphasized the idea of “ageing gracefully, like fine wine,” by encouraging safe, sustainable, and beneficial movement practices. This meaningful event was made possible through the full support of our Hospital Director and dedicated personnel, reflecting our shared commitment to the well-being of both our patients and their loved ones.
New Sinai MDI Hospital
On 8 September the New Sinai MDI Hospital celebrated World PT Day by hosting a health talk on healthy ageing, where senior citizens and hospital staff were invited to learn from a Licensed Physical Therapist about the importance of staying active and preventing falls.
OLFU Pampanga
The Physical Therapy Civic Action Group - OLFU Pampanga hosted a momentous full-day event highlighting the essence of healthy aging, focusing on frailty and falls, bringing together practicing physical therapists and aspiring PTs to celebrate and advocate for an immersing problem in our community.
Philippine Orthopedic Center
The programme started with a prayer and welcoming remarks from the Physical Therapy Supervisor. A Physical Therapist delivered a lecture on Healthy Ageing, Frailty, and Falls, which was attended mostly by patients and some hospital staff. After the lecture, participants received a small token – a bag containing vitamins and supplements, an information sheet from the toolkit, together with our tailored exercises, and a hot/cold compress.
A Physiatrist joined to answer questions about the supplements, followed by a short exercise session led by a Physical Therapist to promote strength and balance.
The programme was concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the Department of Rehabilitation Head and a group photo with the participants and PT team. To make the event more engaging, a raffle was also held with prizes including a weighing scale, portable bike ergo, and a tumbler.
Overall, the event was a success and everyone had a great time!
Angeles University Foundation
The Physical Therapy Students' Society at the Angeles University Foundation celebrated World PT Day.
