Headshot of Ah Cheng Goh

Ah Cheng Goh is ISEAP's founding president, 2009 to 2011, and has been ISEAP president since 2019.

He is a Singaporean, and has been living and working in Japan for the past 28 years. He is a Colombo Plan scholar with more than 40 years’ experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He qualified as a physiotherapist from Auckland, New Zealand in 1981, and holds a master's in applied science (physiotherapy) from University of Sydney in 1992, and a PhD from Curtin University, Australia, in 2003. Before moving to Japan, he was the chief physiotherapist in the Singapore Armed Forces and is a past president of the Singapore Physiotherapy Association

Yuichi Abe has been ISEAP secretary since 2023 and was an ISEAP board member, 2019-2023.

He holds a bachelor's in sports science, Waseda University in 1996, an associate degree in physical therapy, Shinshu University in 2005, Auckland University in 2010, master's in health practice in musculoskeletal practice), Auckland University, New Zealand, in 2010, PhD, Shinshu University in 2016. He is currently a professor and dean of student/international affairs at Iryo Sosei University, Japan.

He is a qualified manual therapist, as well as specialising in electrophyiscal agents (EPA). As a board member in 2018, he was responsible for conducting the first international survey on the availability and usage of electrophysical agents (EPA) commissioned by ISEAP.

Chee Wee Tan has been the ISEAP treasurer since 2019. He is an associate professor in physiotherapy at Singapore Institute of Technology. He was also the head of department (physiotherapy & paramedicine) at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland.

His clinical expertise lies in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in performing artists and chronic pain management. Chee Wee teaches in the areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, electrophysical agents, pain science, anatomy, research methods, clinimetrics, research ethics and evidence-based practice. 


Webinar objectives

This webinar will provide attendees with an ability to understand the:

  • definition of electrophysical agents (EPA), as defined by ISEAP since 2011
  • availability and usage of EPA within the AWP region, and the factors that affect usage
  • importance of EPA in clinical reasoning for diagnosis
