The Panhellenic Physiotherapists' Association has been a member of World Physiotherapy since 1974 and is part of our Europe region.
The country’s first physiotherapy course was formed in Athens in 1958 and six years later graduates of this course founded the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists.
The Panhellenic Physiotherapists' Association, or its national special interest groups, are members of the following specialty groups recognised by World Physiotherapy:

To practice, a physiotherapist must first be registered with the Panhellenic Physiotherapists’ Association and obtain a licence to practice from the Local Administrative Districts (perifereies) - Health Professions departments.

*Direct access means a person can refer themselves to a physiotherapist without referral from another health professional
What are the circumstances in which direct access is limited?

Time (eg. medical referral required if treatment is needed beyond 30 or 60 days)
Training (eg. certification, academic training, or CPD to demonstrate skill necessary to treat patients without referral from a medial doctor)
